I work every day in a commercial environment, with processes that lend themselves well to automation. I always had a pretty good idea of how that should work — the hard part was never coming up with the idea, it was building it. Asking Claude a question and getting a good answer back, that came easily. But getting from an answer to a working application was a completely different step.
A concrete example: we send out quotes, and if a customer hadn't responded after a week, someone would personally call or email them — a fixed, recurring little task. I knew exactly how I wanted to automate that, but got stuck the moment it went beyond the idea itself. How do you host something like that? How do you actually put it live, without first having to spend months learning to program?
I solved that problem myself, step by step, with AI as my helper — without ever having learned to program. That follow-up process around quotes now runs completely automatically, and I haven't stopped since: integrations with email, websites, Google and much more. A whole world genuinely opened up for me, and it's also enormous fun to build something without any technical knowledge.
